Tuesday February 26th 10am -4pm
Join multi award-winning watercolour artist, Alan Ramachandran for a full day workshop in watercolour landscape. From understanding and controlling your brushes to the basic control of watercolour techniques and understanding tonal values, we'll be using a step-by-step approach in composition, tonal value and colour selection so that you will be able to paint using a limited palette to create a mood in your paintings.
You will learn composition and drawing, colour-mixing, watercolour techniques and strategies for executing your piece for perspective and definition.
Alan is one of Australia's leading watercolour artists and teaches in the highly regarded 'Grampians Brushes', a program of art classes in Halls Gap, attracting acclaimed international and Australian artists to teach its programs. Alan specialises in landscape and plein-air painting.
Students from beginners to intermediate will benefit from this intensive, fun, full day workshop. Cost is $100, plus materials. Please refer to the materials list below. We have desktop easels available for your use, as well as brushes, if required, water vessels and palettes. Should you require materials to be provided, please let us know and pay the requisite additional materials fee of $30 to the tutor on the day.
Ahead of this workshop, Alan will be hosting a free art demonstration here at Atelier on Saturday, February 9, from 1.30 to 3.30. All welcome!
