Cradle of Life

River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis)

Camphor Laurel (Cinnamomum camphora)

The strong and smooth upward flowing vertical housing that holds the red egg (Life) has elements that suggest fingers and these form the Cradle. The housing was turned and hollow formed then cut and carved from a piece of River Red Gum. The Camphor Laurel egg was turned and stained a matching red colour. This creation was developed by time consuming sketching and manipulating shapes on paper.

Measures 30cm tall

Made in Semaphore, South Australia by Henry Pamula
