The Goose's Golden Egg
River Red Gum (Eucalyptus Camaldulensis)
Camphor Laurel (Cinnamomum camphora)
The Camphor Laurel egg was first turned and then stained a yellow colour. After turning and hollow forming the slender vertical housing, five egg shape voids were made to compliment and emphasis the shape of the golden egg. The idea for this piece came after reading fairy tale: The Goose's Golden Egg to my grandchildren.
