This beautiful ring is made from a vintage sterling silver spoon. Originally it was a spoon made by Thorvald Marthinsen in 1936. Designed with the Lillemar (Little maid) pattern, it was once part of a set of spoons, but now this spoon ring is a beautiful piece of historic jewellery. Little Maid pattern draws inspiration from Norwegian woodcarving and rose-painting traditions. These in turn were inspired by the Acanthus twining vine immortalised by ancient Greeks.
Thorvald Marthinsen Solvvarefabrikk was founded in 1883 in Tonsberg, Norway. The Marthinsen silver goods factory has long been known for tradition and quality merchandise.
This one is in a size O/7.5 and can easily be adjusted slightly larger or smaller - please contact Atelier Crafers if you wish to have it adjusted in size at no extra cost.
The Marthinsen hallmark can easily be seen on the inside of the ring.
This spoon ring is made by Silver Rose Jewellery in Crafers, South AUstralia and is sold exclusively at Atelier Crafers.
