Hand spun and hand knitted shawl

Measures 110cm x 160cm
The base for this pattern comes from Weldon's Practical Knitter, Vol1 published in 1886.
This lace motif appeared in the Practical Knitter issues in 1886. It’s formerly known by its Shetland name “Print o’ the Wave,” but within Victorian publications—including Weldon's—it appears as Leaf and Trellis
This leaf and trellis effect is an old pattern often used for window curtains, cotton antimacassars and other articles. The pattern has been adapted from the original for this handknitted shawl.
Handwash in warm water and dry flat.
