Collection: Janys Davies - Indulgence Textiles

I am a weaver with a passion for using natural fibres to reflect the colours and forms of the natural world around me. The native birds in the gardens and bushland around my home studio are a constant source of inspiration and joy, and a frequent focus of my work.

The colours and textures of the threads and the myriad ways the threads can be interlaced all contribute to the magic of creating woven cloth. Much of the silk, alpaca and wool yarn is hand dyed to achieve just the right colours, and some I hand spin. Plant based yarns such as cotton, linen and bamboo expand the range of textiles available to me.

My original designs are translated into unique, timeless pieces of wearable art on one of my 8 shaft floor looms in my studio at Wistow, South Australia.
