Collection: GONDWANA TAPESTRY

An exhibition by Ingrid Mangan & Proo Geddes
9 October – 9 November 2026

Atelier Crafers is delighted to present Gondwana Tapestry, an exhibition bringing together the work of two very different artists, Ingrid Mangan and Proo Geddes.

While their visual styles are distinctly their own, both artists share a deep connection with the Australian environment and the extraordinary flora and fauna shaped by our ancient Gondwanan landscape.

Ingrid Mangan’s richly coloured works explore Australia’s unique plants and animals, often placing them within framing devices that suggest containment, restriction and the pressures placed upon our fragile natural environment. Her detailed compositions draw attention to the beauty and vulnerability of species that have evolved in isolation over millions of years.

For Proo Geddes, the environment has been a lifelong presence. Her experiences have included working to protect threatened wildlife and helping create feral-proof mainland sanctuaries. Since retirement, painting has become a way of expressing those experiences, observations and emotions. Her watercolours are gentle, atmospheric and deeply connected to place, wildlife and story.

Together, their works form a tapestry of colour, contrast, observation and storytelling — two individual voices woven together by a shared respect for the living world.

With approximately 30 works on exhibition, Gondwana Tapestry invites visitors to pause, look closely and consider both the beauty and fragility of the landscapes and creatures around us.
