Sculptured Rim - Australian Oak - Eucalyptus obliqua
To enhance the basic turned form, I introduced a simple and repetive sculptured pattern for it's rim. The design was developed by sketching and manipulating shapes on paper. The shapes were first marked, cutr, etensively carved, yextured and stained to provide the delicate rim highlight. The timber, a laminated beam offcut, was rescued from a building site rubbish pile.
