Carved and Textured Vase
Red Flowering Gum (Corymbia ficifolia)
The timber for this vase was obtained from a tree that was removed from a neighbouring propertry. After turning, the top edge was cut out and shaped. All other features were then systematically marked out and pierced, carved and textured, leaving as many borer holes as possible to add nature's input into the piece. All features were finished with a red stain and the whole piece was finished with Danish Oil.
