Sculptured bowl
River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis)
After turning, the top edge was cut and shaped. All the other features were then systematically pierced, carved and textured. The shades of red heartwood and the exquisite fiddle back grain give the bowl a distinctive look. This piece was made from timeber that came from a tree that was washed down in the Light River floods about 30 years ago in the Stock Port are of South Australia.
