Churchyard Pine Backdoor Boot Bowl
A beautiful example of practical craftsmanship, this large handcrafted wooden boot bowl brings warmth, natural texture and a touch of rustic charm to the everyday entranceway.
Created by local woodturner Neil Strong, the bowl has been turned from recycled Churchyard Pine removed from the historic Upper Sturt cemetery in the Adelaide Hills.
The timber's pale golden colouring is highlighted by distinctive growth rings, knots and natural markings, creating a surface rich in character.
With its generous diameter and gently curved sides, the bowl provides a convenient resting place for shoes and boots beside the back door.
Neil has deliberately retained the surface straight from the lathe, without sanding or polishing, allowing the natural textures and marks of the making process to remain visible.
