Rich, warm tones and beautifully swirling grain make this handcrafted Blackwood bowl a striking celebration of Australian timber.
Created by Adelaide Hills woodturner Neil Strong, this generous bowl has been carefully turned from rescued and recycled Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon), a native Australian tree that grows locally in the Adelaide Hills.
The timber displays particularly deep chocolate and golden-brown colouring, with flowing grain patterns that give the piece wonderful depth and natural character. Its gently rounded form and smooth, polished finish allow the beauty of the wood to take centre stage.
A beautiful functional bowl or sculptural centrepiece for a dining table, sideboard or coffee table.
