Churchyard Pine Backdoor Boot Platter
Rustic, practical and full of local history, this generously sized wooden boot platter offers a wonderfully different approach to keeping an entranceway tidy.
Handcrafted by Adelaide Hills woodturner Neil Strong, the platter has been made from recycled Churchyard Pine removed from the Upper Sturt cemetery in the Adelaide Hills.
Rather than sanding and polishing the surface, Neil has intentionally left the platter straight from the lathe, preserving the natural tool marks and creating an honest, rustic finish.
The pale golden timber displays beautiful concentric growth rings, knots and natural variations, each telling part of the tree's story.
Designed to sit near a back door or entranceway as a convenient place for everyday footwear, this piece combines practical function with the character of locally salvaged timber.
