Tiny Standing Spirit
Sheoak (Casuarina ssp.)
Viewing a documentary depicting primeval figures provided the inspiration for this exhibit, imagination then took over. After turning, the spirit shapes were drawn, cut out, shaped, sanded and painted. This exhibit was made from a small branch pruning of a Sheoak tree that was pruned by a Council worker in my area. I managed to salvage it from the lurking mulching machine. Finished with Danish oil.
